I've been dabbling in collage quilting since the pandemic started. This is definitely NOT a beginner pattern, but I learned so much completing it! I think it may change how I approach all my collages going forward. Thank you Emily and please bring back the bear! (or create some new 'intermediate/advanced' patterns please!)
I started with the original pattern. shrunk it down and added the rest of the horse body along with a rider and plenty of background. I do plan to finish the original pattern in the near future.
What a beautiful pattern. Love working on it. It was out of stock and out of print for a long time. I was so thankful to be able to get one when it was back in stock. It is an incredible pattern, easy to follow and a delight to make. Highly recommend it.
I found the horse to be the challenge I needed. Thought I would never make this, until I wanted to make something for our friend who owns 26 horses and is an art teacher. It was perfect.
Here 's food for thought: what if someone wanted to make an additional horse - could you make the panel available without the pattern?! It was just something I thought about while making it.
Just received the Roosters pattern booklet - I love the booklet format. keeping it for the retreat.
Hope your summer is going well. See you in October.

I purchased this pattern for the upcoming Retreat. The pattern is amazing and I have been collecting fabric for this piece. Can't wait to get started!!!
I bought the horse pattern for the future. I haven't started collage quilting yet, but when I get some experience, I want to try the horse. The pattern had been discontinued, and everyone was looking for it, so Emily brought it back, and I snapped it up.
I am so excited that Emily brought back her magnificent Horse! If we weren't preparing our house to sell with the plan to move across the country, I would have already started this project. But for now, it's at the top of my list for projects to do once we've moved. I love the detail this pattern provides and will relish collecting the fabrics I will use on this beauty...I'm envisioning a beautiful bay with a white star on his face...in honor and loving memory of the horse who was my best friend when I was a kid.
